As the mornings are getting darker and colder I’ve been in search of things to add to my smoothies to give them a big of a punch to wake me up. This morning you could almost hear the lightbulb ding above my head as I remembered that I had root ginger in the fridge!
This recipe also uses the cheapest of the cheap frozen fruit salad from tesco, it makes for a bland smoothie if used on its own, but with adding coconut and ginger it gives a nice fruity edge.
1 serving – approx 520 calories
- 1 banana
- 30g rolled oats
- 150g frozen fruit salad mix (mine had grapes, melon, apple and orange)
- 50g coconut milk
- 10g root ginger – diced
- 5g light muscovado sugar
- 250ml – unsweeted soya milk
Blitz together and enjoy as it shakes the morning cobwebs out!
